These terms are an agreement between you and Green Labs LLC (“we”, “us”), which operates ooli: the ooli app for iPhone and iPad, the Parent Hub (in the app and on the web) and this website, playooli.com (together, “ooli”). By using ooli, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use ooli.
1. Who can use ooli
ooli is made for kids aged 4 to 7 to play, with a parent or guardian in charge. Accounts, consent, settings and anything to buy are for adults only: you must be 18 or older, and the parent or legal guardian of any kid whose profile you create. You're responsible for how your kids use ooli on your devices.
2. Your account
A grown-up signs in the first time the app opens, with a code we email or with Sign in with Apple. The grown-up parts of the app sit behind a passcode you choose on each device. Keep your email, your devices and your passcode secure, and tell us at support@playfulintelligence.co if you think someone else has used your account. Give us accurate information, and keep kid profiles to a nickname and an age.
3. Free trial and subscription
ooli offers a 7-day free trial, then a subscription of $6.99 a month or $49.99a year (US prices; Apple shows your local price before you buy). Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through your Apple ID, and Apple's terms for purchases apply. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, in your Apple ID settings (Settings > your name > Subscriptions). If you cancel during the free trial, you won't be charged. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
One subscription covers every kid in your family, and Family Sharing can share it with your family group. If the price ever changes, Apple will tell you first, and you can cancel before it applies. If your subscription ends, your kids' progress stays saved on your device, ready for when you come back. Anything to buy sits behind your grown-up passcode. Kids never see a price, and there are no coins or in-game items for kids to buy. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app.
4. AI-made stories
In Silly Story Builder, a story may be written on the device by a model built into the device's own software, inside a template we wrote, from four picture cards a kid tapped. On other devices the story comes from stories we wrote. Every story is checked by our kid-safety rules before Rex reads it, and we work hard to keep it kind and suitable for young kids. A device's model can still make mistakes. If you ever see something that isn't right, tell us at support@playfulintelligence.co and we'll fix it.
5. What ooli is, and isn't
ooli is a set of games that learns what your kid knows and plays at their level. It's meant to support, not replace, the grown-ups, teachers and real-world play in your kid's life. We don't promise any particular learning result.
6. Things you agree not to do
- copy, sell, rent or redistribute ooli or its content, except as these terms allow;
- try to get around the grown-up passcode, time limits, payment or security features;
- reverse engineer ooli, or interfere with or overload our servers;
- use ooli to break the law or to harm a child or anyone else;
- use automated tools to collect content from ooli or to feed it into an AI model.
7. Ours and yours
ooli, including Rex, the oolis, the games, artwork, sounds, voices, writing and software, belongs to Green Labs LLC and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use ooli for your family, not commercially, while you follow these terms.
Stories and other things your kid makes in ooli are theirs to enjoy and share with family and friends. You let us store and show them to you and your kids so ooli can work. We don't use them for anything else, and never to train AI.
8. Changes and availability
We're always improving ooli, so games and features may change. We may also update these terms; if a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Using ooli after that means you accept the new terms.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using ooli and delete your account at any time from the Parent Hub, in the app or on the web. We may suspend or end access if someone breaks these terms or puts kids at risk. If we stop offering ooli altogether, we'll give notice first.
10. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep ooli safe, working and available, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
11. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, Green Labs LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim about ooli is limited to the greater of what you paid us for ooli in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
12. Disputes
If you have a problem with ooli, please email us first at support@playfulintelligence.co; most things can be fixed quickly. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
